When space is a slow burning glass of wine
As an interior designer, I am drawn to spaces that have emotional depth – where light, materials and lines are not just for show, but to tell a story. And Velvet Ember is such a project: a charming – quiet – magical wine bar, where every corner evokes the feeling of sipping a glass of red wine by the dying light of a fire.
✦ Design idea: A blend of red velvet & ash
“Velvet” represents softness and luxury.
“Ember” represents smoldering heat and inner depth.
The project uses a main color palette of wine red – black charcoal – smoky copper – dark brown wood, combined with materials such as matte velvet, dark stone, dark glass and brushed metal. Every detail is restrained to create sophistication, but not lacking in “quality” – strong, individual and sexy.

✦ Light: Evokes a feeling of smoldering
The lighting in Velvet Ember is not bright – it is low, soft, like the glow of a fire from the bottom of a wine glass. Recessed lighting, pendant lights with dark shades, and faintly reflected copper create a layer of visual “smoke”, making the space seem to slow down. This is the ideal place for diners to relax after a long day, whisper in the night, and find a part of themselves in that luxurious silence.

✦ Experience: Private enough to be intimate, open enough to be emotional
From the low-arched entrance to the layered seating nooks of wood paneling and velvet curtains, Velvet Ember is divided into levels of privacy – suitable for both romantic rendezvous and quiet conversations. Every chair, every glass, every wall is not random – they are part of a “stage” where emotions are the main characters.

Velvet Ember is more than just a bar – it’s a space to burn quietly, to let emotions be guided by the eyes, the music, and the last taste of the night.
