The Opaline Cove project is a fusion of interior aesthetics and ocean inspiration – a nail salon space designed as a peaceful cove, where light, color and materials blend to bring a visual and emotional experience as gentle and sparkling as mother-of-pearl. As an interior designer, I approached this project as if I were “carving” a separate world – gentle, airy but no less sophisticated and refined.

The name Opaline Cove is the key to the entire design concept. “Opaline” – a pearlescent pearlescent color, both transparent and reflecting subtle colors under the light, brings a feeling of fragility, femininity and fantasy. “Cove” – meaning a small bay – evokes a feeling of closure, protection and privacy, like a peaceful refuge in the midst of a noisy life. I want customers, when entering this space, to feel a gentle relaxation as if they are lost in a calm bay, where time slows down and all senses are soothed.

The shop space is designed based on the principle of soft movement – from the curved interior shapes, gentle arches in the walkways and walls, to the ceiling lights like melting dew drops. The main color palette revolves around pastel shades of mother-of-pearl: ivory white, seafoam blue, nude pink, light lavender… combined with materials such as frosted glass, pearlescent tiles, silver metal and soft velvet. All create a multi-layered emotional space, both pure and deep.

I paid special attention to light and reflection – curved mirrors, low-gloss tabletops, and soft ambient lighting create a shimmering effect like water under the moonlight. The space is not flashy, but instead has a deliberate quietness – a luxury that comes from restraint and natural sparkle.

Opaline Cove is not just a nail salon, but a slow-living experience amidst the thin mist of ocean aesthetics – where beauty is no longer confined to the nails, but spreads from every interior detail to the surrounding air. With this project, I want to affirm that: interior design can create surreal moments in everyday life – where each guest is not only beautified, but also lives in beauty.
